The James Bond the star met the Queen as they filmed together a hilarious sketch for the 2012 Olympics held in London.
Craig revealed the details of their meeting in an appearance on The Late Show on Wednesday (February 16).
He said the 95-year-old was “very funny, wanted to break a joke and make a joke about me”.
He added: “We took pictures of ourselves, and she just said, ‘Oh no, he’s the one who doesn’t smile. “
Host Stephen Colbert asked Craig what the Queen’s pet dogs look like.
“I was rolling on the floor with them most of the time,” the actor said. “I mean, they’re just there. I think they have their own servants. They are very friendly. ”
In December 2021, Craig was awarded the Order of Saints Michael and Saint George in the New Year’s Honors List, an honor usually given to diplomats and spies.
It is the same honor given to his James Bond character, who he played from 2006 until last year. There’s no time to die.
The honor bestowed on Craig is recognized for service abroad, or in connection with foreign and Commonwealth affairs, such as the work of diplomats abroad.
The fictional spy features CMGs in Ian Fleming’s books as well as their movie adaptations.
