The South African dancer told fans she “cannot put into words how difficult this decision was” in a social media post confirming the news.

In a statement, hit BBC dance competition said: “Oti has been a really great part of Strict in the past seven years. Her energy, creativity, and talent have contributed to many of the show’s most memorable moments and she will be sorely missed, not only by the viewers but the entire team.

“She leaves a dazzling legacy behind, being the only professional dancer to win the Glitterball Trophy two years in a row.”

Mabuse joined the series in 2015, winning the competition twice: in 2019, with celebrity partner Kevin Fletcher, and in 2020, with Bill Bailey.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Oti and what she has achieved,” the official continued Strict declare.

“She will always be the center of Strict family and we wish her every success in her already bright future. ”

Mabuse shared about leaving the series on Instagram, telling followers it was “never easy to say goodbye”.

She added that she was “truly grateful” to the BBC and added that Strict “brought me to Great Britain – the place I now call home”.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she continued. “I can’t put into words how difficult this decision was, but I’ve decided not to come back for the sequel.”
