McGregorHowever, the 33-year-old recently set his sights on a summer comeback fight ufc president Dana White believes the fall is a more realistic timeline for his return.

The veteran promoter told SunSport on Tuesday night: “We’re looking to early autumn when all goes well.”

Fan favorite McGregor is desperate to compete again this year but is refusing to return to action until he’s fully healed.

He said: “I have to endure it day by day. April they said I was going to spar again, turning my back and turning.

“I was told a few months ago I could box and then all of a sudden I couldn’t box anymore.

“So I just take it day by day, there’s no rush. I’m in a great place mentally.

“Physically I feel strong, I feel full of energy. I’m always keen to get in and fight [I’ll] Just take it day by day and it will happen.

“It will be done if the Lord wills it.”

McGregor ventured into the octagon twice last year, meeting former interim lightweight champion Poirier both times.
