CRISTIANO RONALDO made ANOTHER slip by failing to score for the fifth straight game – his longest goal drought in more than one DECADE.
He threw some white lanyards from his wrists as his teammates stayed behind to applaud the traveling fans.
The Portugal international is currently playing five games without a goal – a pre-existing dry spell United’s 3-1 win over Clarits on December 30.
He started on the bench at Turf Moor before being brought on with 20 minutes left.
And he was goalless and empty as the final whistle continued another disappointing display by the Reds.
Boss Ralf Rangnick noticed an error with his team before introducing Ronaldo – at that point a draw seemed almost inevitable.
He told BT Sport: “It was 1-0 at half-time, we knew they were going to come out in the second half in a more positive way and the only thing I can complain about the team is that we weren’t enough. fiercely in the first 20 games minutes of the second half.
“If you look at the whole game, we dominated most of the time. One point wasn’t enough and another point was disappointing.”
Ronaldo has now scored against Wolves, Brentford, West Ham, Middlesbrough and Burnley twice.
And CR7 currently has the club’s worst goalscoring record since 2010.
Back then, he failed to score in the final tie of the 2009-10 season for Real Madrid – before scoring in the first three games of the 2010-11 season.
Ronaldo has scored in just six of his 18 appearances for United this season, although he has netted twice against Newcastle and Arsenal.
He has been more successful in the Champions League, scoring six goals in five group stage games.
When it comes to international football, Ronaldo has gone five games without scoring since 2018.
He failed to register in Portugal’s final two clashes at that year’s World Cup in Russia, or in his first three games for Juventus.
