Cristiano Ronaldo rapist police STOP arresting him for ‘sexual assault’ in Vegas despite believing they have evidence

The police investigating Cristiano Ronaldo over a rape allegation believe they have enough evidence to arrest and charge the footie star – but have been dissuaded by a senior official.

But Clark County Attorney Steve Wolfson knocked the detectives down and refused to prosecute the case.

In a court transcript unearthed by The Sun, Mayorga’s attorney, Leslie Mark Stovall, revealed: “What happened when that [arrest warrant] was presented to the district attorney’s office, Mr. Wolfson refused to prosecute.

“He didn’t say why he decided to decline and whatever – any argument is just speculation. It is within the statute of limitations.

“Police believe they already have a case to prosecute for one count of sexual assault and the DA decided not to do so.”

Stovall filed the claim in US District Court in Las Vegas on September 21 of last year, but the transcript has only now come to light.

DA Wolfson is a leading prosecutor in Las Vegas, in Clark County, Nevada.

In July 2019, after reviewing the police investigation, Mr Wolfson said there was not enough evidence to substantiate the allegations against Ronaldo beyond a reasonable doubt and no charges had been made. .

The superstar striker has vehemently denied raping Mayorga at the Palms hotel and casino on June 12, 2009.

Ron, 37, settled with her accuser in a civil action where she accepted a “concealed” payment of £276,000, but she is now seeking an additional £56million.

Despite the police investigation being dropped, the civil case is still ongoing.

Ronaldo’s legal team has always claimed that the police investigated the rape allegation twice in 2009 and 2018 – and there were no cases to answer.

And the star himself also denied the allegations and insisted he had a consensual sex with Mayorga.

According to DA Wolfson, a new Las Vegas police investigation has failed to show that Mayorga’s claims could be substantiated at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.

A July 2019 statement from the Clark County District Attorney’s office read: “Based on a review of the information presented at this time, the sexual assault allegations against Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be substantiated. beyond a reasonable doubt.

“Therefore, no charges will be introduced.”

Ronaldo’s representative declined to comment.
