Ronaldo appeared on the 20-minute announcement, which is a pretty big deal for FIFA franchise status right away.

The soccer star calls UFL a “revolutionary project in the game of football” thanks to the “competitive and fair experience” it offers players.

This is clearly casting shade on the pay-to-win FUT mode of FIFA and developer Strikerz Inc. say as much as:

“The game is designed to be a fair playing experience, emphasizing a skill-first approach with zero pay-to-win options.”

Strikerz CEO Eugene Nashilov did not completely fire FIFA, saying:

“We at Strikerz Inc. have great respect for everything that has been done over the years in the field of football video games.

“But at the same time, we feel that the community is always yearning for a change.

“Our goal at UFL was to create a game that is immune to the problems that are hindering the genre’s progress.”

Much as Fortnite Creative and Batte Royale, there are many modes in the UFL, but the global online soccer tournament is the main attraction.

Offline play is available, as well as ranked and unranked modes, and special events.

UFL has partnered with some of the clubs listed above website, including:

  • West Ham United
  • Sports CP
  • FC Shakhtar Donetsk
  • Borussia Monchengladbach
  • AS Monaco
  • Beşiktaş JK
  • Celtic FC
  • Rangers FC

UFL will launch this year, but no exact date. It will release “when it’s ready”.
