Coronation Street Christmas spoilers: Emma destroyed in wedding crisis

Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) is still no wiser than Curtis Delamere (Sam Retford) lied to her on Coronation Street.

Last week, viewers discovered Curtis doesn’t actually have a life-threatening heart condition but a dissociative disorder.

Curtis lies about his health in order to feel love and care from others because his childhood was difficult, his ideas about love and relationships are somewhat tumultuous.

Coming up, as Emma prepares for her wedding, she has second thoughts, worrying whether she’s really doing it right.

Meanwhile, Curtis started asking about flights.

Steve (Simon Gregson) tells Amy (Elle Mulvaney) that he gave Curtis his bank card for a charity transfer, but the actual charity never received it.

After doing some digging, Amy confesses that Curtis is a pathological liar, he’s not dead, and most likely stole the money.

Emma then patiently waits for Curtis at the wedding venue, but will he show up?

Or did he do a runner?

Sam Retford hinted at what was to come:

‘I think he wanted to help, but it’s a huge challenge for a young person to completely rewrite their past and their lives. It’s very important to document how you think when you are young while your brain is still developing, remapping your entire neural pathways and how you perceive/build relationships. I think he wants it but it’s a big challenge and only the others there can really help you’.
