Cop subduing intruder at NYPD station: sources

A maniac intruder jumped over the desk at the Times Square NYPD substation – and one officer was beaten trying to arrest him, police sources said.
The suspect, who is described as being in his 40s, stormed into the station at 43rd Street and Broadway at around 10:50 a.m. and fumed – jumping over the desk, sources say.
Officers there notified other police officers stationed nearby, the sources said.
When police officers tried to subdue the man, one of the officers injured his right hand and another was hit with a club, according to sources.

It is unclear if the suspect pepper sprayed the officer or if the officer’s spray somehow leaked during the fight.
Both police officers were taken to Bellevue Hospital for evaluation.
The suspect was taken to the Midtown South train station building where charges are pending against him, sources say.
