Cooler and windy Friday with a quick chance of snow

DENVER (KDVR) – Clouds will extend above the Front Band Thursday night as mild lows drop only to the upper 20s and lower 30s. Winds will gradually increase through Friday morning, turning cool in the afternoon.

Light snow will push up into the mountains on Thursday night, and it could slide quickly through the metro area on Friday afternoon. Snow is expected to accumulate mainly west into the foothills and south of the city towards the Palmer Divide.

The new accumulation could be 1-2 inches, with the city center visible about half an inch. The highest will be around 40 lower on Friday afternoon with cloudy skies.

Sunshine returns over the weekend with lower highs in the 30s on Saturday and then the over 40s on Sunday. Sunny and dry conditions lasted until midweek with peaks near the 50-degree mark.
