Concerns are growing for Halo Infinite as Cyberpunk 2077 outperforms it on Twitch

After a loud start, Halo Infinite’s noise has calmed down. Now fans are worried as the once-hyped multiplayer title gets even less attention on Twitch than older games like Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020, with… on sub-ideal reception due to bugs and performance issues. Halo Infinite was released a year later, in December 2021, to enviably loud applause.

Less than three months later, that Halo excitement hasn’t just died down — it’s settled into an uncertain state of limbo. The formerly top-class title seems to have fallen out of favor, especially on streaming platforms.

In a March 11 tweet, WickedGoodGames showed how steep Halo Infinite’s descent has been – to the extent that the game can’t even reach more Twitch viewers as cyberpunk.

Halo Infinite is surpassed by Cyberpunk 2077 on Twitch

Twitch is by no means the perfect barometer of a game’s success, but its viewership numbers indicate interest. It’s bad for a new Halo game to only get 1,000 viewers, but even worse when an older, divisive title is doing better.

By doing answers, people’s concerns were obvious. One user replied that “1.1k viewers for a HALO game that came out 3 months ago is embarrassing in every way.”

Another explained why Cyberpunk could potentially outperform Halo, noting that “it makes sense. One game improves itself and the other self-destructs.” This probably refers to the recent ones Backlash Halo received over its “terrible” updates.

Halo Infinite Twitch Viewership
Pull out

Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t the only game to outperform Halo Infinite on Twitch.

While Halo Infinite’s viewership has increased since the WGG tweet, it’s still not in a particularly exciting area. The game tops the similarly disappointing Call of Duty: Vanguard, but fails to top 2015’s Witcher 3 or the retro games category.

In 2022, Halo and Battlefield 2042 were set to compete with Vanguard for the FPS crown. Instead, they all seem to fight for only three months of the year. Concerns are growing for Halo Infinite as Cyberpunk 2077 outperforms it on Twitch
