UN (Reuters) – The door to reviving the 2015 Iran nuclear deal is wide open but “we are rapidly reaching the end of the road” to resurrecting a pact marred by nuclear advances of Iran, the French Ambassador to the United Nations said on Tuesday.

Iran’s 2015 representation with six major powers – Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States.
“Iran has to choose between the collapse of the JCPOA and a fair and comprehensive deal… Iran’s continued nuclear escalation means we are rapidly reaching the end of the road,” he said, standing by the side. next to UN ambassadors from Great Britain and Germany, a group. called E3.
“Iran’s nuclear program has never been more advanced than it is today,” he added. This nuclear escalation is undermining international peace and security and the global nuclear non-proliferation system.”
Under the 2015 deal, Iran limited its nuclear program – which the West fears would be used to develop weapons, which Tehran denies – in return for US, Coalition sanctions Europe and the United Nations.
In 2018, then-US President Donald Trump reneged on the deal and reimposed US sanctions, prompting Iran to begin violating nuclear restrictions about a year later.
Indirect talks to save the deal are currently underway in Vienna between Iran and the US, with officials from other countries shuttles between the two sides because Tehran refuses to come into direct contact with US officials. .
