COLORADO WEATHER: Mild Sunday, cold Monday night

DENVER (KDVR) – More sunny today and warmer temperatures with peaks reaching in the low to mid-50s. That leaves us about 10 degrees higher than average for the afternoon.

Monday starts to be sunny but clouds slowly build up during the day. The 40-year high was on before the cold front arrived on Monday night.

Some showers are forecast overnight before sleet moves Tuesday morning along the Foothills and Front Ranges. Snow will whiten the metro area in the afternoon and slide south along the Palmer median in the evening.

Totals are expected to accumulate 1 to 4 inches creating slippery roads Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
