College student goes viral on TikTok after revealing friends’ bank balance

A TikTok by a college student showing off her own bank balances and those of friends has garnered widespread attention and has been viewed over 2.1 million times.

TikTok user ‘prettygirlsydddddd’ has shed light on an often-overshadowed part of friendships. Posting her own bank balances and those of seven friends on the social media platform for the whole world to see.

The video begins with the text: “I asked my friends to send their account balances.” Pictures of the friends and their accounts follow one after the other.

The screenshots, although unconfirmed, gave a unique glimpse into the lives of the TikTokers and their fellow students.

Her friends had balances ranging from $7909.44 in savings, loans and debits to $38.85 in a single checking account.

Being so transparent about your financial life is a bold move. A move that was well received by viewers of the video, many of whom felt solidarity with the amounts shown.

A viewer responded to the video and commented that they felt they were in a similar position Saying: “It made me feel like I wasn’t alone.”

Another commented, “No one is negative!” in a refreshing reminder to take everything with a positive spin.
