CoD Vanguard March 31st Update: Assault Rifle Buffs, LMG Nerfs, Full Patch Notes

A brand new Call of Duty Vanguard update just went live on March 31st and implements a number of weapon nerfs and buffs as well as some important bug fixes. Here’s a look at everything included in the full patch notes.

Just a week after Reloaded update for season 2which brought with it a host of new maps, modes and gear, another CoD Vanguard update has now been deployed.

This time around, a new weapon balance pass is the focus of the patch, as a range of assault rifles, LMGs and even melee weapons have come under scrutiny.

A small perk change along with some important bug fixes top it off, but you can check out the full rundown of the latest CoD Vanguard patch below.

The latest CoD Vanguard update fixes a number of issues in the new Arms Race game mode.

CoD Vanguard updates weapon changes on March 31st

A total of 11 weapons were fixed with the March 31st CoD Vanguard update. Everything from specific adjustments to attachments to general weapon adjustments has been thrown into the patch.

On a positive note, weapons like the Type 11 LMG, M1 Garand Marksman Rifle, and Machine Pistol Handgun have all been polished to varying degrees.

Most notably, the Cooper Carbine Assault Rifle has had four of its attachments retuned. You may need to look at yours again workload to ensure you have the best tips for the future.

The Cooper Carbine received the most attention in this CoD Vanguard update.

Beyond individual weapon changes, a single perk was also improved in the Vanguard patch.

Engineer (Intel) should now be more effective with highlights of enemy gear and killstreaks made more visible.

    • The UI elements “Escort” and “Eliminate” now update correctly during the Sudden Death phase of a game.
    • Fixed an exploit that allowed players to become invulnerable after dying from fall damage.
    • Fixed an issue that resulted in purchases made at the Buy Station not being deducted from a player’s cash balance.
    • Players no longer have an invisible weapon when the Bioluminescence or Steamer blueprints are equipped.

    • Updated Restrictions
      • The Skal Crusher has been restricted in ranked play and can no longer be equipped for loadouts.

    • Increased sprint time.
    • Increased hip fire spread.
    • Oak & Shield 590mm Model 2B (Barrel)
      • Decreased ADS time (-8%).
    • .50 BMG 50 round magazines (Magazine)
      • Increased ADS time.
      • Increased hip fire spread.
  • Whitley (light machine gun)
    • .50 BMG 150 round boxes (magazine)
      • Decreased damage bonus (-32%).
  • M1 Garand (sniper rifle)
    • Decreased ADS time.
    • .30-06 and 6.5 Sakura Drums (Magazine)
      • Ammo capacity increased from 16 to 20 (+25%).
  • SVT-40 (sniper rifle)
  • G-43 (sniper rifle)
    • Decreased ADS time.
    • Decreased hip fire spread.
  • Kar98K (sniper rifle)
    • Fixed an issue that resulted in a slower than intended ADS time when no optics attachment was equipped.
  • Battle Shield (Melee)
    • Fixed an issue where enemy attack dogs could deal damage through the battle shield.
  • submachine gun (pistol)
    • Decreased recoil when shooting.
    • Decreased hip fire spread.

    • Increased the visibility of highlighted enemy gear and killstreaks.

User Interface and Experience

  • Troubleshooting
    • Operators will now properly enter the lobby while equipped with a battle shield and pistol in their preferred gear.
    • Combat speed and quickplay filter selections no longer reset after returning to the main menu.
