Club shooting: 3 people were shot dead outside a nightclub by a suspect riding a U-Haul in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A suspect is on the run after several people were shot dead at a nightclub in southeast Houston on Friday, police said.

The shooting happened in the 6900 block of Cullen, near Alice Street, after officers responded to a call to shoot from the car at 4:47 a.m

The suspect reportedly drove by in a U-Haul and opened fire in the club’s busy parking lot, where several people were nearby, but two women and a man were injured.

A person may have fired back at the suspect, according to the HPD.

Two victims are in stable condition, the other in serious condition.

The victim’s mother, in serious condition, said she walked by the scene but was unaware that her daughter had been injured in the shooting.

“I didn’t even know what happened. I happened to stop by on my way to my cousin’s house,” said Paula Parker. “I’ve seen all of this and I’m trying to call and pretend it’s her,” says Parker, her daughter will be fine.

Investigators are now looking for surveillance to help identify the suspect.
