Climate conservatives protest Biden for weaponizing weather in the wake of Kentucky tornado tragedy

It may not be possible to avoid it President Joe Biden, among other libertarians, will send out a lot of hot air about tragic tornadoes in Kentucky and other parts of Central America is due to climate change.

“All I know is widespread weather intensity has some impact due to planetary warming and climate change,” Biden told reporters Saturday.

“The reality is we all know things get more intense as the climate warms. Everything. And obviously, it has some impact here.”

But conservative meteorologist Joe Bastardi didn’t have it.

On Sunday, he tweeted, “Joe Biden inadvertently acted again with his weaponization of Tornados. 1) Violent tornadoes do not increase. 2) this year tornadoes, hail and winds are all at near-record lows. “

Bastardi added, “The heartless media should do their unfinished business and call him on it, I called [former President Donald] Trump out on [Hurricane] Dorian jibberish. ”

Bastardi added several charts with data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to back up its point.

A graph showing how carbon emissions increased from 1954 to 2014, but the number of tornadoes per year did not increase. By contrast, that number has gone down.

Another chart shows the number of tornadoes recorded through December 11, 2021, and the number is near a record low.

The third chart notes that the number of local storms with hail, as of December 11, is less than half of the annual average for the past 15 years.

Finally, the fourth chart shows that the number of local storm reports of damaging winds for 2021 is also below average for the same time period.

Meanwhile, conservative website Climate Depot has interjected with a quote from climatologist Dr Roy Spencer.

“The trend line that matches the number of strong to severe US tornadoes has dropped from 60 in 1954 to 30 in 2018. In other words, the average number of damaging tornadoes has gone down. halved since the US census began. compiled,: Spencer wrote in 2019.

“The last half of the 65-year record for U.S. tornadoes featured 40 percent fewer powerful to intense tornadoes than the first half. Claims that global warming is causing more tornadoes than speculated; it is in direct opposition to clear observational evidence. ”

On Monday, Bastardi continued sniping Biden Administration.

“Think about it. An Energy Secretary is laughing at our dependence on OPEC. An EPA administrator says an event in 96 years is the new normal. A president wastes no time in inclement weather in the face of realities that suggest otherwise. 81,000,000 (sic) million votes for this? ” he tweeted.

“Insanity. It’s been a season of tornadoes, gusts and below-average hail. No credibility. No knowledge of past weather. We’re in the hands of the wingmen. description (sic), who weaponized the weather for their purposes. Deception and deception, piling up misery… Sociology.”
