City of Fort Myers announces construction of new wells

FORT MYERS, Fla – The City of Fort Myers has announced plans to build a new series of raw water source wells. The new wells will supplement the existing City well yard.

Additional raw production wells are needed to replace older wells to meet growing water demand, according to the city’s announcement.

The city said it will need to build additional facilities to meet its projected water needs for 2022.

City officials are looking to explore and buy land for potential well sites.
