Chrishell Stause has opened up about the ramifications of going through a public divorce while filming the hit Netflix series Sell sunset.
The actor and real estate agent was married This is us Actor Justin Hartley from 2017 to 2019 when Hartley filed for divorce.
In scenes aired in the third season of the real estate reality program, Stause learns via text message about the end of her marriage, as well as the immediate aftermath of the breakup, as it played out in the media.

“It was obviously very humbling, and the fact that I had to film another reality show — that was it or quit,” she told hosts Molly Sims and Emese Gormley.
“But suddenly I had just lost everything and I didn’t know if I wanted to lose what I had worked really hard for, which was my job and my career. So I prevailed.”
Stause then noted that having her fight publicized on the show was ultimately a positive thing, as it allowed viewers to connect with her and express similar difficulties they were facing.

“I think transparency is so much better than trying to pretend life is perfect,” the actor added.
“I think it’s important to be open about things that you’re struggling with. Therapy is a truly amazing tool.”
