Chris O’Dowd Wins Star in Big Door from Schitt’s Creek Writer

The film revolves around a small town that is shaken when a mysterious machine that reveals a person’s true purpose appears.

Chris O’Dowd will star in the upcoming Apple comedy, Big Door Prize, based on Diversity. The limited series will last 10 episodes and there are plans to derive most of its plot from the novel of the same name written by MO Walsh. The show will revolve around a small, sleepy town called Deerfield and its inhabitants. Things heat up for the quiet town and its people when a mystical and eerie machine shows up at the local grocery store. As the plan presents its purpose as revealing each person’s true potential, the townspeople whirl around the question of whether to stay in their comfortable lives or follow these new paths.

O’Dowd will play Dusty, a friendly, much-loved teacher and devoted father and husband. Overwhelmed with his daily mundane life, Dusty wondered if he was playing it too safe. As the machine reveals its true purpose, the teacher and family man must dig deep to find out if he is truly happy, or simply stuck in the process. motion process.

Earned an Emmy for his performance in State of the Union, O’Dowd enjoyed a long, successful career in television and film. O’Dowd was seen in Epix’s Shorten, IT crowd, Girls, and Moone Boy. His film career includes titles like Bridesmaids, Starling, This is 40, and St. Vincent.

The new series is bringing its book to television by Schitt’s Creek writer and executive producer, David West Read who will also act as the presenter. Read has been nominated for an Emmy Award for his writing on Schitt’s Creek, and won an Emmy for her work as an executive producer on the show. Along with his work on screen, Read also has a long history of composing for the stage. Currently, his Olivier Award nominated musical is titled, & Juliet, which he created with the famous musician and music producer Max Martin, is showing in London’s West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

There is currently no release date for Big Door Prize.
