Chris Cuomo spoke out on his radio show Wednesday after he was suspended by CNN, saying being sidelined “was very painful”.
“Quick note, on the obvious,” Cuomo said on his show.Let’s start after it. “I was suspended by CNN… You know this already. Even saying it hurts. It’s embarrassing, but I get it.”
Cuomo said that he “has apologized in the past” and doesn’t want to “compromise” with his colleagues at CNN. He also mentioned that there was a “process” at CNN to address his actions and that he would not discuss the suspension further.
Cuomo, 51 years old, is suspended indefinitely from CNN following evidence that he worked closely with his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, while the latter was embroiled in sexual assault allegations.
CNN Cuomo is suspended after New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James released the memo on Monday. The network notes that the transcript shows “his brother’s level of involvement in the effort is greater than we previously knew”.
Anderson Cooper filled the void Tuesday night after Cuomo’s suspension, saying that “new documents released this week indicate that Chris was more closely involved than previously known in helping him his son, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo defended amid numerous alleged sexual misconduct. ”
