Chicago Bears Hire New Head Coach, Pick Colts’ Matt Eberflus: Report – NBC Chicago

Just two days after hiring their new GM, Ryan Poles supposedly brought in a new head coach. Based on a lot of report, Matt Eberflus is set to take the lead Bear The changing room moves forward.

In 2017, a year before Eberflus arrived in Indianapolis, the Colts were 30th in the league in both goal scoring and total defense. The following year, Eberflus helped the defense climb to 10th place in allowed points and 11th in allowed yards. Last season, the Colts ranked 9th in scoring and 16th in total defense.

He’s helped bring about rapid changes in other key areas as well as key areas that happened to the Bears in 2021. In 2017, the Colts’ defense ranked 20th in results, then gradually increased to 10th in 2018, 5th in 2020 and second in last season. In addition, he has created a culture of discipline, with his defense rarely conceding expensive free-kicks. In 2021, the Colts are ranked with the least amount of defense and the second least number of rough passes. They are only called to mock once.

Eberflus has a background coaching defenders and has helped make Darius Leonard an All-Pro three times. Before coming to the Colts, he worked as Cowboys defenders coach from 2011-2017 and their passing game coordinator in 2016 and 2017. In that role, he also helped shape Sean. Lee to All-Pro and also worked with DeMarcus Ware.
