Chet Hanks: Viewers amazed at the bizarrely intense impression of Heath Ledger’s Joker

Chet Hanks sent people into a frenzy with his intense portrayal of Heath Ledger’s Joker.

The controversial actor, musician and son of Tom Hanks gave the impression of the Batman villain – as brought to life by Ledger in 2008 The dark knight — while appearing on Ziwe Fumudoh’s Showtime interview series.

Shirtless and sitting on an exercise ball, Hanks was filmed reciting several lines from the film, seemingly unprompted. The clip is embedded below.

“I have no plans,” he says in response to a question. “I’m like the Joker.”

“Do I look like a guy with a plan?” he then asks, influencing Ledger’s voice and quoting one of his lines from the film.

“I’m like a dog chasing cars. I wouldn’t know what to do with it if I had it! Batman, you complete me,” he continued, reciting more joker lines. “My father was a drunk and a devil!

“RIP Heath. GOAT,” he added in his own voice.

Hanks then made an impression of Denzel Washington, prompting Fumudoh to ask if he found such impersonation offensive, which he denied.

Viewers reacted shocked and amused to the impression on social media. Comedian Danielle Schneider wrote, “I’m dying of laughter and I’m scared of him too.”

“Can someone explain how Chet Hanks came to be shirtless impersonating a Joker? I’m literally so confused,” wrote one viewer.

“I think Chet Hanks broke Ziwe,” wrote another. “Her whole thing is that she’s chaotic, but not even she could match his chaotic energy. When he started singing her and then quoting Heath Ledger’s Joker, the Ziwe character slipped and we saw Ziwe’s actual reaction.”

Someone else joked that they were “losing their minds,” while another viewer quipped, “I just saw Chet Hanks do a pretty decent Joker impression of Heath Ledgers and now my day’s ruined.”
