After buying Christmas presents for his family, CJ decided to dedicate the rest of his life as gifts to a children’s hospice after responding to a post on the social media platform Twitter.

It took off, and keen riders were ‘overwhelmed’ after receiving more than 500 giveaways.

After sharing pictures of the gifts she bought with her winnings on Twitter, CJ received a number of messages from the public and the racing community looking forward to giving away toys and gifts.

In response to the messages, diehard Chelsea FC fans created a Amazon Wish List for those who want to join the campaign.

As a result, CJ has had gift packages delivered to her door, which will now be shared between Chestnut Tree House Children’s Care in Arundel, Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, Children’s Hospice Children’s Shooting Star in Guildford and Naomi House Children’s Hospice in Newbury.

“I won a bet a few Sundays ago at Cheltenham,” said CJ. I had four of my five appear in Lucky 31 and also a treble and I won about £3,000.

“It’s the one thing I’m most certain of, Put The Kettle On, that frustrates me with my Lucky 31 as if it appears we’re going to talk about thousands of pounds more.

“I got all the Christmas presents for my family and didn’t have anything I wanted but I randomly saw a tweet from a children’s hospice about Christmas presents and I asked them was collecting, so I spent all that money on. gifts and toys.

“About 5,000 people follow me on Twitter and they are all stubborn people and I got a lot of likes from pictures of gifts. That’s when I thought I could use this to inspire others.

“There was a suggestion about setting up an Amazon wish list because so many people were asking for it. I have set up one and only added gifts on it that all came in at £10 or less because I know times are tough for a lot of people.

“The amount of presents coming to my door is insane. I didn’t realize that people would be so generous. I thought a few people might send a few presents over there but I didn’t think it was that common.”

Among those who have donated is flat cyclist Gemma Tutty, while CJ has also received £1,000 from first-place winner owner, who wished to remain anonymous but would love to support the campaign.

She added: “I had a donation from the former jockey alongside current jockey Gemma Tutty. Another jockey got in touch on Instagram and asked for donations to charities of my choice and they donated £250 to four separate charities.

“I had an owner texting me asking if he could send some money. I was expecting £50 there but when I checked my bank he put in £1,000.

“What I did with all the money was buy a portable DVD player that a hospice had prioritized. Although I started this, it is largely due to the generosity of the racing community.

“I’m nobody in racing but it’s great that people have trusted me with money and toys.”
