Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen, 19, is wanted by Barcelona for a shock move after shining on loan at Coventry

BARCELONA is said to be eyeing a shock move for Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen following an impressive loan spell at Coventry.
The 19-year-old has made 20 appearances in the High-Flying Championship outfit.
Coventry find themselves seventh, one point behind Stoke who are in last place in the play-offs.
And with Maatsen playing a key role in the Sky Blues’ success, he’s drawn attention from the cash. Barca, based on Football Insider.
But the left-back is highly rated at Cobham, and Chelsea could look to learn from their mistake when they let Tino Livramento join Southampton for just £5m in the summer.
Chelsea have the option to buy back the right-back but the European champions will have to pay around £40m to bring him back to the club.
Last month it was also reported that Chelsea could call back Maatsen.
But Coventry boss Mark Robins insisted the conversation was ‘out of interest’.

Talking to CoventryLive, Robins said: “I certainly won’t go into any detail of any contract terms.
“But from my point of view there is nothing to worry about. There’s no point in worrying. I have not heard anything about the contraryy.
He’s been with us for the season and hopefully that’s still true because I think he’s getting a really good and grounded experience both here and with the Netherlands.
“And I’m sure Chelsea are happy with that and his loan, and the way he’s performed and developed, so I’m sure they’re happy with that.”
