HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — Bond was taken to court overnight over a woman accused of murdering a mother who was protecting her baby.
The probable cause court hearing did not go as expected.
After turning herself in earlier this week, the public defender told the judge that 25-year-old Tranisha Latavia Miller said she did not want to show up for her bail hearing.

A judge set her bail at a total of $900,000 — $750,000 for murder and $150,000 for aggravated assault.
In court, the crime was described as “dating violence.”
Miller is accused of assaulting and shooting at her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend.
Police said Miller waited between parked cars before assaulting the couple as they were walking home from a supermarket.
She shot her ex-boyfriend, but then turned to 21-year-old Chante Wilson, according to police.
Her ex-boyfriend survived, but his new girlfriend, who was then holding her 1-year-old son, was shot multiple times. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
“My client resides in Houston/Harris County for life. She has been unemployed for six months. Before that, she worked for Amazon and sorted packages,” said the suspect’s public defender. “She is a high school senior and taking online classes to get her bachelor’s degree.”
If she posts bail, Miller must be under house arrest and must have no contact with her ex-boyfriend.
