Cattle spilled onto Illinois highway after truck accident: video

At least 16 cattle were spilled onto an Illinois highway after a cattle truck trailer was ripped open in an accident that injured the driver and halted traffic for hours.
On Tuesday afternoon, a cattle truck crashed into a broken semi-truck and Honda coupe, releasing more than a dozen cows and bulls onto busy Interstate 80.
The truck driver’s trailer was torn open in the accident. There were 33 cattle in the trailer and 16 escaped onto the highway. Two of the cattle had to be euthanized due to injuries. State police told NBC Chicago that the tow truck driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Farmers nearby helped gather the remaining cattle, which were taken to a nearby camp.
According to the Illinois State Police, Bradley E. Pate, 51, of Waynesboro, Virginia, was charged with driving under the influence and had subpoenas issued for failing to slow down to avoid an accident and for following the cattle truck , which he was driving, had not used the lane properly, went off the road and crashed into a trailer truck.
