HBO’s The last of us The cast of the TV show is officially growing, with the actors stepping into the roles of brothers Henry and Sam, who have now been revealed. Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Woodard will play the characters, with some key changes made for the upcoming series.
HBO is adding four more names to the cast of The Last of Us
Lamar Johnson, first revealed by IGN, will play older brother Henry, while Keivonn Woodard will take on Sam. They join the leads Bella Ramsey as Ellie and Pedro Pascal as Joel. The brothers were first introduced to players in The Last of Us as survivors in Pittsburgh, teaming up with Ellie and Joel to take down hunters roaming the city. The HBO series will change things up as Henry and Sam live in Kansas City “in hiding from a revolutionary movement seeking revenge.”
The cast of The Last of Us also added two entirely new characters to the group. Marlon and Florence are played by Graham Greene and Elaine Miles, respectively. They are described as “a married couple surviving alone in the wilderness of post-apocalyptic Wyoming”. It remains to be seen how exactly they will get involved in the proceedings, but with everything at stake in the post-apocalyptic world, their journey will surely be interesting to follow.
After voicing Ellie and Joel in the video game, Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker will appear in undisclosed roles. Gabriel Luna will play Joel’s brother Tommy, and the actor who originally voiced the siblings, Jeffrey Pierce, will play a quarantine zone rebel named Perry.
The Last of Us is slated for release on HBO and HBO Max in 2023.
