Carlos Tevez moves closer to shock free transfer to DC United, which former Man Utd teammate Wayne Rooney played for in the MLS

FORMER Manchester United forward Carlos Tevez is said to be ‘in talks’ with DC United over a possible move to the MLS.
Former lover-United and City of Manchester the man is now a free agent after leaving Boca Juniors in the summer.
But now Wayne Rooney’s Former club DC United has offered the 38-year-old player a return to football, according to The Athletic.
They claim that a likely move is ‘25%’ and revolves around whether the club and Tevez can cancel an agreement on a financial package.
Tevez’s representatives are said to have invited their clients to DC United ‘several times’ over the past few years, but the club declined each time.
Now, though, the negotiations are progressing in a positive direction.
Should Tevez agree a deal, he is not expected to have ‘designated player’ status at the club.
MLS teams are allowed three signings above their usual salary, hence those three being labeled as ‘designated players’.

MLS member teams Minnesota United and Orlando City are also said to be interested in signing free agent Tevez.
The striker took some time off in the summer after his father’s deathbut not officially announced retirement.
And now he is heading for a shock return to the club where Rooney has been for two years.
Tevez and Rooney also spent two extremely successful seasons as teammates at Manchester United.
During Tevez’s time at Old Trafford, he helped the club win back-to-back Premier League trophies, Champions League, Club World Club and League Cup.
Rooney joined DC United in 2018 but left after two seasons to take on a player-manager role at Derby County.
He has scored 25 goals and provided 14 assists in just 52 games for the Washington-based team.
