Cardi B donates $100,000 to NYC alma mater during surprise visit

For Cardi B, it’s always Bronx Season.

The hip-hop superstar walked into her former middle school auditorium on Tuesday, much to the surprise and delight of his students.

Cardi B, who has a song called “Bronx Season,” was greeted with shouts and applause several times while speaking to the Alexander Macomb School in Morris Heights.

The cheers were heightened when she announced she would be donating $100,000 to school programs.

The money will go to performing arts tracts both during the school day and after school in IS 232, which Cardi B said could “make a big difference in the school and in any school system.”

“Where would you like to be in a few years?” the South Bronx native asked the student room. “Make sure you think long-term.”

Cardi B said school served as a safe place for her during her middle school years and helped her grow into the Grammy winner she is today.

The rapper urged students to “think long term” about their education.

“Children in the Bronx have to grow up fast to fit our circumstances and environment. While some young teens like 11-13 are still alive in this Disney world, these kids need to grow up fast and FAST,” she wrote on Instagram, adding that she hopes her donation will help street students and troubled families will keep away.

Cardi B plans to visit other schools in Queens and Brooklyn in the coming weeks to unveil a special project she’s been working on for the past two years, she said.

According to Mayor Eric Adams’ controversial budget, the Department of Education is set to deal with a $10 billion deficit in the coming years.

According to UFT officials, Cardi B’s donation nearly offsets budget cuts New York City made at the Alexander Macomb School this year.

“@NYCMayor has slashed IS 232’s budget by over $104,000. There’s no question that @iamcardib is for the kids – this government… that’s another story. #RestoreTheCuts”, The teachers union tweeted. Cardi B donates $100,000 to NYC alma mater during surprise visit
