Can you emulate Bloodborne 2022 on PC?

Bloodborne emulation on PC is the ongoing dream of many gamers. It would be amazing to play what many consider to be FromSoftware’s best game at 60 FPS and 4K resolution. But after years of waiting for an official PC release, fans are ready to use a PS4 emulator to play the game. The big question is whether we will be at the point in 2022 where this is possible.

Is it possible to play Bloodborne in 2022 on a PS4 emulator?

Unfortunately, no currently available PS4 emulator can run Bloodborne at any speed, let alone 60 FPS. Anyone who claims they can is a scam. The PS4 emulation scene is just beginning to develop. We probably won’t see any significant progress until it reaches end of life as the risk of legal action is too high.

As of mid-2022, the most powerful PS4 emulator can only boot into a few low-end titles. Due to the complexity of the x64 instruction set, we probably won’t see true PS4 emulators running anywhere near full speed for a decade or more. Since the console is essentially a highly customized PC, we’re likely to see emulator developers turning to a compatibility layer (like Wine) to run PS4 games.

The only way to play Bloodborne on PC right now is through PS Remote Play. With it, you can stream the game via the cloud. However, you’ll likely get mixed results as Bloodborne requires precise control input and there’s enough latency to be noticeable.

Right now, players have the best and most likely chance of playing Bloodborne at 60 FPS, and a decent solution would be a PS5 jailbreak. A 60fps patch is available and the PS5 should be strong enough to handle it. Even the PS4 Pro does an admirable job running the game with the jailbreak patch, with just a few dips here and there, so that’s a possibility too.
