When Good Sam begins, Dr. Rob “Griff” Griffith (Jason Isaacs) was the chief of surgery, but when he was in a coma after a shooting, his daughter, Dr. Sam Griffith (Sophia Bush) to be just about to get that job permanently. Needless to say, that led to quite a bit of conflict, especially since she gave him before he could return to the OR again.
But perhaps Griff’s ex-wife, hospital manager Vivian (Wendy Crewson), can help. Specifically, in the January 19 episode, she brings along her new partner, therapist Asher Pyne, played by the guest star. Sendhil Ramamurthy, as she was looking to help navigate the battle between her daughter and her ex-husband. CBS has released photos of Ramamurthy as Asher, and it looks like his marriage to Vivian is going well, and Sam and Griff don’t seem too happy with Vivian. We’ll have to wait and see if this is the first time Vivian, Sam and Griff have interacted with Asher in a professional capacity.
Also glimpsed in the photos below are what is sure to be Dr. Lex Trulie’s (Skye P. Marshall) tense conversations with Sam and Griff. As revealed in premiere, Sam discovers that her best friend and her father met before he was shot. Scroll down to see what else is coming in “Butt of the Joke.”
