Norrie and Evans both joined Andy Murray in the third round to make it the first ATP Masters 1000 event on clay where Britain had three players at the time.
Murray booked his place – and a meeting with an old rival Novak Djokovic – on Tuesday night and Norrie and Evans followed the next day.
The British number one, Norrie, defeated the American John Isner in three sets and won 6:4, 6:7 (5), 6:4.
The 26-year-old, ranked at No. 11 in the world, was able to find crucial breaks in key moments of the first and third sets to prevail and set a date with rising star Carlos Alcaraz.
Evans, who has been lacking in wins lately, pulled off an impressive 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (2) win over the home favorites Roberto Bautista Agut and will face world number eight Andrey Rublev next.
