The world record holder for most ghost peppers eaten has done it again!
And this time, Gregory Foster made it quicker than before, having eaten 17 of them in a minute, according to Guinness World Records.
“This record attempt is a personal challenge to see how far I can take myself and my love for super hot peppers,” Foster said.
The man from San Diego, California set the record after stuffing 17 bhut jolokia chili peppers down his throat.
According to the Pepper Geek, the Bhut Jolokia chilli pepper is one of the hottest peppers in the world and contains one million Scoville heat units.
Foster’s most recent world record was set on November 14, 2021 in San Diego, California, where passers-by watched as he gulped down the hot peppers.
The ghost pepper eater holds the world record for destroying six Carolina Reaper chillies in 8.72 seconds and breaking the world record for the fastest time to eat three of the peppers in 2017.
The previous record holder for the most eaten Carolina Reaper chiles was held by Mike Jack, who ate three in 9.72 seconds, according to Food Network.
When Foster isn’t setting records for eating the hottest peppers, he’s doing business with his own company called Inferno Farms, which sells hot produce and hot sauces.
“As a chilli lover, I’ve been trying to spread awareness and excitement about the super hot chilies out there,” Foster said.
“This attempt was purely a personal effort to set another Guinness World Record alongside my current level [ones]. I love eating chili and pushing myself.”
