BURNLEY has reportedly seen an offer to sign Victor Moses blocked by the Premier League.
the previous Chelsea ace is eager to leave Spartak Moscow after Russia invaded Ukraine last month.
Fifa and Uefa have ruled that players stranded in both countries’ domestic leagues can move clubs outside of the transfer window due to the ongoing conflict.
Sean Dyche’s side agreed Moses on a short-term deal until the end of the season, with Spartak ready to facilitate the transfer.
But Prem’s bosses have vetoed it.
According to the post OfficeLeague bosses have thwarted Burnley’s Moses bid to protect the competition’s “sporting integrity”.
It means the 31-year-old won’t be able to return home to play on those shores until next season.
Moses is also unable to join a team in Serie A or the Bundesliga as Italy and Germany take a similar stance to the Prem.
However, the Nigeria international, who was keen to join Turf Moor, COULD move to LaLiga as Spain are ready to welcome players from Russia and Ukraine.
Moses last played in England in the 2018/19 season.
He then spent the 2019-20 season at Fenerbahce before making 20 appearances for Inter Milan the last semester.
Moses left Chelsea permanently for Spartak last year and has made 46 appearances for the Russian side so far.
He has been in action since war broke out last month, most recently playing 45 minutes against Nizhny Novgorod last weekend.
