Bullet Ring Found in Corridor of Shrewsbury’s Oak Middle School – CBS Boston

SHREWSBURY (CBS) – A volley of ammunition was found in the halls of Oak Middle School in Shrewsbury on Friday. Shrewsbury and the Massachusetts State Police conducted a search of the entire building and did not find anything else, and no one was injured.
The officers remained at the school for the rest of the day.

Oak High School Principal Dr Ann Jones and Shrewsbury Public Schools Superintendent Dr Joseph Sawyer released a joint statement detailing the day’s events.
Both said a live bullet had been found, and the students were asked to drop their backpacks into the hallway to search. State Police K-9 units were involved in the search, but nothing else was found.

Dr Jones and Dr Sawyer said: “The search did not find anything and did not lead to any cause for concern. “The school has no information that leads us to believe there is any threat.
The police search ended around 11:15 p.m., and at that point the students were first informed by Dr. Jones of the reason for the search. Jones said the kids were assured they were safe.
“We are giving this information to you to reassure families that we have responded to the discovery of the bullet by following our safety procedures to ensure that the school environment is safe. safe,” Jones and Sawyer wrote to their students’ families.
