A BRITISH soldier is on the international wanted list after she allegedly slashed a friend’s throat with a broken bottle in Magaluf.
Police in Spain have issued an arrest warrant for Sydney Cole, 22, who has been released on bail after supposed horror at Bananas nightclub in 2019.
Corporal Lance Sarah Garrity is in intensive care after losing four liters of blood in the incident.
Medics closed the knife cut across the throat with 14 shots.
Sarah, of Ayrshire, Scotland, only survived after teen hero Kane Sharman trying to stop the blood from flowing from her neck.
Today, a Mallorcan court issued a subpoena against Cole, the daughter of a bus driver from Hertfordshire.
It happened after failed attempts by detectives to inform her that they wanted to interrogate her again under oath, Ultima Hora report.
Sources said the judge acted after Cole, who was based at Fort George Barracks in Inverness when she was arrested, changed his address without notifying the court.
If the allegation is true, it means she has breached her bail conditions.
MOTHER ON THE WANT LIST
Cole is said to have left the barracks after giving birth. It is understood that she currently lives in an Army house.
Her defense attorney Miguel Angel Ordinas has ended his relationship with the suspect. A second attorney who worked with her also quit.
Meanwhile, Spanish officials are said to have been unable to find key witnesses who told police they saw Cole throw a glass directly at Sarah, 25, in the face.
Sarah, who was serving in the Royal Logistics Corps when she was injured, said she did not want to be charged after the incident. in an all-day foam party.
Cole said she threw a glass on the floor during an altercation and debris lodged in Sarah’s neck.
After the fight, she was detained for two days before lawyers secured her release.
A source close to Mallorca said they believed a trial would take place – and the case was only delayed by Covid.
They said: “Before state prosecutors convict her, Cole must be re-examined under oath.
“The problem is that the coronavirus pandemic has broken out and it has to be done via video conferencing.
“It has been suspended several times.
“No date has been set for the court question. It could be a month or two.
“But it will happen and it’s a simple form of bureaucracy that needs to be in place before an indictment is issued.”
Another added: “I would expect state prosecutors to prosecute Cole for attempted murder as determined by the investigating judge.
“That in Spain can be punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison.
“The indictment could be for a lesser charge of causing bodily harm to a dangerous person although it would be unexpected.
“But until the indictment is issued, no one can be 100% certain.”
Sarah’s family insist Cole has never apologized for her alleged part in the injury.
She wasn’t suspended from the Army – and the pair continued to work together, even having to stand marching together.
