Netflix users watch again Bridgeton before the new season just noticed a big clue about the second season.

The first season of the historical drama was released in December 2020 and quickly became one of the streaming service’s most successful TV shows.

However, viewers who were wondering what was to come in the follow-up would have found the answer in a small detail in the finale.

The final episode of the show’s first season features a camera lingering on a bee, echoing a similar shot from the very first episode which shows a bee on the door knocker of the Bridgerton family home.

Since the series is based on Julia Quinn’s books of the same name, readers know that a bee is responsible for the death of the Bridgerton patriarch, who died of anaphylactic shock after being stung.

It is this incident that provides the context behind the behavior of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), Daphne’s (Phoebe Dynevor) controlling bachelor brother.

The reasons for Anthony’s emotional detachment will not be explored in the first season, but will be the focus of the all-new run, which is adapted from Quinns The viscount who loved me.

Dynevor will have a supporting role in the new season, with Bailey and Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma) taking on the lead roles.

Bridgeton returns to Netflix on Friday (March 25).
