Bridgerton: Fans are still devastated that Regé-Jean Page will not be returning for Season 2

Bridgeton Fans have expressed their anger at Regé-Jean Page’s long-confirmed absence in the upcoming second season.

On March 3rd, the hit Netflix show’s official Instagram account shared new posters for its new series, which premieres on March 25th.

The posters show the returning characters enjoying an afternoon round of croquet and tea, minus Page’s popular character, Simon, the Duke of Hastings.

It was announced a few months later in April 2021 Bridgerton’s Season 1 finale that Page would not be returning for the next season.

However, this fresh reminder of the upcoming season prompted fans to share their irritation at the prospect of a Page-less Bridgeton.

“It’s back but it just won’t be the same,” one fan wrote.

Another replied: “He’s just not in it, is he?”

One fan shared what he would miss most from the show: “The sexiest parts won’t be there!”

While the Duke’s relationship with Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) was the main story of the first season, his character arc ended with the finale.

The show’s creators later confirmed that Page’s role would always be limited to one season.

While many fans have expressed frustration at his absence, others still seemed excited about the new series.

“OMG I’m freaking out my heart is pounding out my mouth looking forward to the trailer,” said one fan.

Another wrote: “I’m hosting Bridgeton Birthday brunch the day after the premiere! It will indeed be the event of the season.”

The new season will follow the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Viscount Anthony, as he embarks on a search for a suitable wife, as chronicled in the second romance novel in a Julia Quinn series.

Bridgeton The second season will premiere on Netflix on March 25th.
