Boris Johnson urges Russians to find out the truth about Ukraine

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday night issued an urgent appeal to Russian citizens – urging them to seek out and share the truth about the “atrocities” committed by their country’s troops in Ukraine.

“The Russian people deserve the truth, you deserve the facts,” Johnson said in a video address, which he dictated in part in Russian.

Johnson cited the harrowing scenes recently uncovered in Irpin and Bucha, where the bodies of hundreds of civilians were discovered in a mass grave where some Western leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declare genocide.

“Civilians massacred – shot with hands tied. Women raped in front of their young children. Bodies were roughly burned, dumped in mass graves, or just left on the street,” Johnson said.

“The reports are so shocking, so disgusting, that it’s no wonder your government is trying to hide them from you,” the prime minister continued.

“But don’t just take my word for it.”

In his address, Johnson encouraged the Russian people to use a private, untraceable Internet server to see for themselves the horror unfolding in Ukraine.

“All you need is a VPN connection to access independent information from anywhere in the world,” Johnson said.

“And when you find out the truth, share it.”
