BRITS across the country descended on the city to celebrate the start of the Easter holiday on Good Friday.
That hottest day of the year meant the Brits would never waste the day indoors.
And after a glorious sunny day, happy revelers kept the partying going as they made the most of the long weekend.
The celebrations continued yesterday when party-goers came into town for a well-deserved break from work.
Bars and pubs in Leeds, Newcastle and other major cities were packed to the brim.
Grinning friends happily posed for photos while enjoying the festivities around town.
And groups of friends proved they were in the Easter spirit by donning cheerful costumes.
A group of boys were in high spirits and decided to go to town disguised as chefs.
Not to be outdone, a group of girls dressed up as Disney princesses had come to have fun.
Others were pictured on the floor after drinking a little more alcohol than they could handle.
Some happily tucked into a tasty late-night snack after a night of partying to soak up the drink.
It goes without saying that there will definitely be some sore heads on Saturday morning as happy Brits celebrate the Easter weekend in style.
Mercury rose to 23.4C in London’s St James’s Park yesterday, making Good Friday the hottest day of the year so far.
The new high beat the previous record of 20.8C set on March 23 in London and March 25 in Cornwall.
And the good weather is expected to continue throughout the country at the weekend.
