Body Found During Search for Missing NJ Man Jonathan Morris, Family Says – NBC10 Philadelphia

A body was found in According to family members, the search for a missing young man in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

Family members said police found a body while searching for Jonathan Morris, 23, on Monday afternoon in the Hopewell Township section of Bridgeton. They have yet to confirm whether the body is that of Morris. The State Police have also not confirmed whether a body has been found.

Morris was reported missing on Friday. He spoke with his mother Stephanie Pernell on Thursday while working as a support specialist at a development house in Sicklerville, New Jersey. Morris plans to go to the gym that night.

Pernell said she then received a call from police early Friday morning.

“They told me they found my car in front of the woods with blood stains in it,” she said.

The gray 2012 BMW was found driving at the intersection of Barretts Run Archie Platt. However, Morris was out of sight.

The same BMW was seen on surveillance video hours earlier at around 3am on Friday while traveling on Cottage Avenue in Bridgeton with four people inside. Family members said they did not believe Morris, who stood 6 foot-6, was driving at the time.

“He sat with his chair all the way to the back because he was so tall,” Morris’s father, Jonathan Morris Sr., told NBC10. “And whoever it is, you can see him going up, towards the wheel. And that’s all we got.”

On Sunday, Morris’s friends and family gathered in Bridgeton looking for clues in the area. Loved ones told NBC10 that they found Morris’ coat with blood on it not far from where the car was found near the intersection of Barretts Run and Archie Platt streets.
