Boarding Boogie Killed on Christmas Eve
A man has died after being attacked by a shark while boogie up a beach in California, officials said.
The attack happened around 10:40 a.m. at Morro Bay Municipal Beach on Christmas Eve on a sandbar known as the “Pit”.
The man was fatally bitten by a shark and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Port of Morro Bay officials said signs were posted around the local area, warning beachgoers of the deadly attack.
Residents are prohibited from entering the water for the next 24 hours.
First responders said initial evidence suggests the man was bitten by a great white shark, although the claim has not been confirmed.
The victim’s name and age have not yet been released.
