“The world needs a hero, it has me instead,” Johnson tweeted … quoting Black Adam, of course.
Black Adam was delayed for a while, spending years in development before being more restrained because of Covid-19, but it will finally hit theaters next year. In regards to that, fans have been trying to get a closer look at the iconic antihero’s thunder suit, which is adorned with a lightning bolt pattern no different from The Flash’s. Now, with the movie coming out, Total movies revealed the first look at the outfit, attracting the star Dwayne Johnson in all his muscular binding glory.
The performer shared cover on his Twitter, quoting his morally questionable protagonist: “The world needs a hero, it has me instead.” Inside the magazine, Johnson promises, he shares his “10-year journey to bringing the Khandaq flying saucer to the big screen,” noting that it will hit shelves this Thursday – so we don’t waiting too long for a close-up of Black Adam’s cinematic origins. The suit itself looks great, a bit of black and gold metallic in the spandex showing strength and durability in attacks. What else could you want in such an iconic character?
Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia recently talked about the movie and his confidence when see an early cut. In his words:
“It’s true that the movie is in the phase where no VFX is done. It’s very refreshing after shooting. But any time the movie is interesting and good in its raw form, that makes us very happy. so confident. [we’re] really excited about where the movie is. Jaume did a great job. Loan luan movie. It’s fun. DJ born to play Black Adam – [I’ve] I have to tell you, if there’s anyone perfect for this role, it’s him. Then see him with the rest of the JSA and all those characters and Pierce [Brosnan] and Aldis [Hodge] and Quintessa [Swindell] and Noah [Centineo], it’s the “Pinch me” moment. It’s one of the most exciting movies we’ve ever made, and also the most exciting to do something of this scale and with a character that will have a lot of influence on the DC Universe. It’s really cool, and I think you’ll really dig it. “
Either way, we only have a bit of time (relatively speaking) to wait until it hits the big screen and we can decide for ourselves.
Until then, check out the cover with the suit below. Black Adam Releases in theaters on July 29, 2022.
