Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions
We say: Ha! If the economy were as “bad” today as it was then Trump ‘mismanaged’ There would be low inflation, record low unemployment, a runaway stock market, and sizzling business activity across the country. Just The deficits could be smaller – like all of Trump’s except during the pandemic when both Democrats and Republicans have committed trillions in emergency spending. Instead we ran away now inflation, a recession risk, ongoing supply chain issues and oceans of red ink. If that “fixes our financial house,” we’ll take Trump’s “fiscal mismanagement” any day.
Spot the difference:
We say: The Washington Post was vicious in his disparagement of the October 2020 New York Post article about emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop, call her “ridiculously weak” and “fake” news. But with Joe Biden now safely elected and other outlets finally admitting the stories were true all along – and as the FBI investigation into Hunter heats up – suddenly the WaPo sings another melody “Confirmation” of The Post stories17 months later.
We say: Apparently, White people can’t be outraged about it Will Smith’s slap without being racist. And it doesn’t matter that many black people (including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar!) were also outraged. We reckon when your only tool is a hammer, everything looks like a nail — and if it’s the racism map, well. . . you can fill in the rest.
We say: Young, MSNBC swallowed the Kool-Aid. It genuinely believes Americans are enjoying the best economy in years, and is puzzled as to why they don’t give President Joe Biden more credit for doing so. Earth to MSNBC: Inflation is at its worst in 40 years, supply shortages continue to constrain the production and supply of goods, food and energy shortages are talked about, an inverted bond yield curve signals a recession. . . and you think Americans should be thankful?
“Anyone who thinks that we don’t have an oligarchy here in America is gravely mistaken.”
— Senator Bernie Sanders, March 30, 2022
We say: Leave it to Bernie Sanders (estimated value: over $3 million) suggest that because America has billionaires, it’s as evil as the nation that replaced its beloved communist Soviet Union, even as Russia razes Ukraine and kills thousands. Sanders argued for a redistribution of wealth away from the rich, but when his Soviets asserted this, the result was enormous suffering for the masses – and just as much (or even more) inequality.
