Biden calls GOP governments ‘un-American’ after Harris sent migrants to Vineyard

President Biden has accused Republican governors of being “un-American” and “playing politics with people” by relocating frontier workers to Democrat-run havens.

In conversation with the Hispanic Caucus Institute Gala of Congress Late Thursday, Biden insisted his administration was “committed to fixing the immigration system.”

But “instead of working with us on solutions, Republicans are playing politics with people and using them as props,” the president said, hours after dozens of migrants arrived in Martha’s Vineyard and others were dropped off outside Vice President Kamala Harris’ Washington, DC home

“What they are doing is just wrong. It’s un-American, it’s ruthless,” Biden raged at the governors’ dramatic protest at his immigration policy.

Despite the newcomers’ insistence that America’s southern land border is fully open, Biden claimed his administration has an effective “process for managing migrants at the border.”

“We’re working to make sure it’s safe, orderly and humane. Republican officials should not disrupt this process by performing these political stunts,” Biden said.

He also said that it is “long overdue for Senate Republicans to come to the table and provide a path to citizenship for dreamers, those with temporary status, farm workers and essential workers.

“We need to modernize our laws so businesses can get the workers they need and families don’t have to wait decades to be reunited. It’s time to get it done,” he said.

Since April, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has bused about 7,900 migrants into Washington – with the last group arriving at Harris’ home on Thursday morning – and sent about 11,000 to New York and another 300 to Chicago.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has also brought more than 1,800 migrants to the nation’s capital since May.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis this week took that strategy to a new level by flying migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, the idyllic vacation spot favored by left-leaning celebrities and Democratic politicians like former President Barack Obama.

DeSantis said the flights are part of an effort to “transport illegal immigrants to places of refuge,” with $12 million earmarked for transporting “unauthorized aliens” out of the state.

Before her boss spoke Thursday night, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called the governors’ actions a “cruel, premeditated political ploy.”

“We’re talking about kids, we’re talking about families who were promised a home, promised a job, put on a bus and taken to a place they don’t know,” she said, complaining that federal officials weren’t given advance warning before the moves.
