Betty White & Joan Rivers’ ‘Tonight Show’ Interview Reshaped As Viral (VIDEO)

The pass TV icon Betty White on New Year’s Eve has left fans with many nostalgic emotions. As people continue to reminisce about White’s iconic performances, the interview between the legend and fellow comedian Joan Rivers on a 1983 episode of Tonight’s show recently spread, demonstrating the power of two comedy queens.

The episode featured Rivers as the former host Johnny Carson. The interview begins with a playful joke by White on one of Rivers’ recent magazine covers, to which she replies, “Aren’t you a little jealous of the old cover?”

“You would think you were the only cover girl in town,” White replied, referring to her own recent magazine cover. “Did you know that I’m a cover girl?”

“I’m surprised, but probably yes,” Rivers joked before White pulled her away Animal Reviews cover, featuring her posing with an adorable dog.

“And if you dare say, ‘Who else is on the cover?’ I will never speak to you again as long as I live,” White said before Rivers had a chance to comment. Then she clarified further, saying, “I’m the one in the pink coat.” Rivers received her two cents, teasing that White’s cover wasn’t a “major publication”.

“Not a big publication?” White objected. “If you have dogs, I tell you it’s a very important publication.”

In his final words, Rivers joked, “For your career, though, it’s off to a good start.” See the full interview below.

River passed away in 2014 at the age of 81. White’s death came just weeks before her centenary birthday celebration on January 17.
