Belarus accuses Ukrainian military helicopters of border violations – RIA | WSAU News / Talk 550 AM · 99.9 FM

MOSCOW (Reuters) – The Belarusian state border service has accused a Ukrainian military helicopter of flying over its border during an exercise and flying up to one kilometer (0.62 miles) into Belarusian territory, RIA news agency reported on Saturday.

There was no immediate comment from Ukraine.

The accusation comes amid regional tensions with Ukraine and the West’s accusations of Russia’s military build-up, raising fears of a possible attack. Russia denies any such plans and accuses Ukraine of having a buildup.

Belarus is a close ally of Russia.
