Bedford woman accused of living with dead mother for 5 months faces ‘corpse abuse’ charges – CBS Boston

BEDFORD (CBS) – A Bedford woman accused of living with her mother’s body for months after her death has been arrested.
Kimberly K. Heller, 54, was charged with abusing a corpse, Bedford Police said Friday. The police arrested her on November 18.

Police said they responded at home on Ministerial Court where the two live on October 24, following requests for medical checks from family members, who had not seen Heller’s mother in months. . No one answered the door.
Police said officers returned the next day but Heller wouldn’t let them in. They returned later with a search warrant, and that’s when they found her mother’s body.

“Bedford Police later learned that HELLER’s mother had died in the days leading up to Memorial Day in May,” police said in a statement. “The State Medical Examiner’s autopsy determined that she died of natural causes.”
Police say they contacted the Inspector General’s Office of Social Security Administration after discovering that Social Security payments to Heller’s mother were still being deposited into her account several months later. after she passed away.
Heller will appear in court in Merrimack on January 6, 2022.
