Become “immortal” in the metaverse with the new Live Forever mode

A Metaverse company offers the opportunity to “live forever” in their virtual world, even after dying in real life.
somnium room has revealed plans to bring immortality to its users with a new Live Forever mode.
This might sound like an episode of Black Mirror, but the company believes it can make “Metaverse immortality” possible.
Someone wanting this chance to “live forever” would have to provide Somnium Space with a large amount of personal information.
Somnium Space is a virtual world where avatars can own land, trade items, and socialize.
The public can currently access this Metaverse world through Steam.
Artur Sychov, CEO and founder of Somnium Space, revealed this recently Vice his plans to add the “Live Forever” mode.
He told the publication: “Literally when I die – and I’ve collected this data – people can come or my children, they can come in and they can converse with my avatar, with my movements, with my voice.
“You will meet the person. And you might not know for the first 10 minutes while you’re talking to that person that it’s actually AI. That is the goal.”

Sychov’s Live Forever mode was inspired by the tragic death of his father from an aggressive form of cancer.
Sychov hopes that deceased loved ones will be able to talk to you in real life through their avatar in the metaverse long after they die.
The intent is for your immortal avatar to move, speak, and act just like you.
Live Forever mode is not currently available on Somnium Space and anyone wanting to try it will need to sign up and pay.
A group of testers wants to try it next year.
