Beckie’s miracle goal helps Canada win a draw after Bright attacks Lionesses

JANINE BECKIE brought a great night for Millie REMOVEjust as the Lionesses bared their fangs in a high-paced draw with Canada.

The Manchester City player’s superb strike canceled out Bright’s stunning volley as both sides made their mark at the Arnold Clark Cup.

And the clash witnessed England conceded their first goal in a game under coach Sarina Wiegman.

However, Bright swears that the contest organizers will build on their performance and pledge to score more goals for her team.

The England defender said: “Adding goals to my game is something I have wanted to do for a long time, at club and country.

“I’m really pleased that the hard work is paying off and just happy that I can contribute to the team.

“We need these (matches) to learn from. It gives us a lot of information.

“In the second half we suffered a bit more and had to reconnect. How we react to that is harder. We should have scored more goals.

“We were not tight on the ball. That is what we will try to do better on Sunday.”
